The Poole Harbour Heritage Project is the working arm of the Trust, which is actively
involved in research and exploration of parts of Poole Harbour and its environs that
are considered to be of particular interest.
It has active links with ongoing local archaeological work and with the local diving community
who have interests complimentary to the project’s work.
The PHHP has been looking at a number of interesting aspects of the harbour’s history, and
hosted the fascinating “Ship Wrecks of Poole Harbour” seminar day in 2013.
The East Dorset Antiquarian Society (EDAS), established for over 30 years, is an
amateur society based in Wimborne, which is actively engaged in all aspects of archaeology and historical research. Of particular interest is the EDAS work on the brick kiln on
Brownsea Island and the Clay Canal in Lytchett Bay.
